David Beckham speeding charge
Denies 59 mph in a 40 zone in London (in his Bentley).

Whats the betting that his solicitor is "Mr Loophole", Nick Freeman?

Am sure that had he run someone over, they'd have been delighted to have been flattened by David Beckham.

Re: David Beckham speeding charge
Bit confusing this as he denies 'speeding' but from what I gather his story was that he was trying to evade paparazzi so in order to do so had to go faster than speed limit.

So he did 'speed'. But is using discretion?

There was a lawyer who used to post on here, I believe his speciality was getting drivers off drink drive charges. Not sure how these people sleep at night, to be honest. As much a cunt as their clients.

I remember Ferguson once got let off a charge of speeding down the hard shoulder of the motorway.

His excuse was that he needed a shit. I'd like to see the average member of the public get away with that.

Scorch

the way they always used to get away with it was that their cars were company cars, with anyone in employ of the company allowed to drive them, so they couldn't ascertain who was driving. that particular loophole has been closed now.

Apparently, it had always been a dream of his to be stopped doing 59mph in a 40 zone.....

Re: David Beckham speeding charge
Isn't going 45% over the limit an instant ban?

My maths is shit but I'm sure 59 in a 40 zone qualifies.

mashed

no, the guideline is 56-65mph in a 40 zone it's 4-6 points or a ban

Re: David Beckham speeding charge
Most teams would like a 49mph player.

Usain Bolt's only 28mph

How on earth will he afford to pay the fine?
Or pay for cabs if he does get banned?

Suspect it won't bother him if he gets banned as he lives in the states anyway doesn't he?

Tony Pulis got off a few years ago he dodged a driving ban despite being caught by police doing 96mph on a Warwickshire motorway.

Pulis convinced magistrates that handing him a ban would cause hardship to him and the people of Stoke-on-Trent.

The 54-year-old Welshman had reached 15 penalty points with the offence but said he could not use a chauffeur as that could lead to leaks of confidential phone calls concerning the club made while on the road.
